In October 2021, the board of Nýló launched an open call for participation in the museum's Autumn Exhibition 2022. The process had a slightly different format than before: This time, practioning visual artists were given the opportunity to apply based on their own process and artistic work, instead of submitting a fully formed idea or a predefined proposal for an exhibition. With this, an attempt was made to reduce the work that often falls on artists in writing applications, and at the same time to emphasize that The Living Art Museum is a forum for experimentation, process and new work creation. A total of 186 applications were received, which is a record number. We are sincerely grateful for the interest and participation.

At the beginning of the year 2022, the board of Nýló selected five artists from the submitted applications to create an exhibition together: Graham Wiebe, Minne Kersten, Magnús Sigurðarson, Patricia Carolina and Sigrún Hlín Sigurðardóttir. We look forward to working with them on the exhibition and present their works. The exhibition will open in late August.
