Opening: Attendance

The exhibtion Attendance will open at the Living Art Museum on October 29th at 6pm!
Agnes Ársælsdóttir and Helena Sólveigar Aðalsteinsbur are the curators of the exhibtion, which is the finale to a series of exhibitions the two have programmed in connection to their research into the Museum's Performance Archive.
Waiting Room, Reception, Attendance
A dream returns as a ghost, the financial collapse is recalled from the perspective of a twelve-year-old child, a comet travels through the solar system during the exhibition period, and at the opening, visitors receive a souvenir of an event that has barely begun. Four artists take part in Attendance, each working with performance in a different way. The works stretch between past, present and future, into the sky and the subconscious, where past events are recalled and become unexpected moments through the interaction between artists and audiences.
Throughout the exhibition, Ráðhildur Ingadóttir, Margrét Dúadóttir Landmark, Skúli Thayer and Halldór Ásgeirsson present events, happenings, performances, shows or interventions that are activated at specific moments during the exhibition period.
Performance Programme:
Halldór Ásgeirsson – October 29th
Skúli Thayer – October 29th
Margrét Dúadóttir – November 20th
Ráðhildur Ingadóttir – November 27th
Waiting Room, Reception, Attendance
The Waiting Room is an open research space in the foyer of the Living Art Museum, where the museum's entire performance archive is accessible. It contains performances that have already been documented, as well as others that have somehow found their way into the archive. Much of the material is fragile, and some remains on tapes that have yet to be digitised. Visitors are invited to explore the archive boxes with the help of museum staff, discover old and new works, and contribute information about works they recognise.
Waiting Room, Reception, Attendance
Artists are encouraged to contribute to the archive during the exhibition period by bringing in documentation of performances. Materials may take various forms, including photographs, recordings, scripts, exhibition catalogues and newspaper clippings, as well as objects, costumes and other performance-related items.
