Opening: Slept all day

The Living Art Museum welcomes you to the opening of the exhibition ‘Slept all day’ by Ívar Glói Gunnarsson Breiðfjörð on Saturday the 5th of September from 17:00-19:00!

For the exhibition Slept all day, Ívar Glói Gunnarsson Breiðfjörð has created an ambitious installation, consisting of new works made this year, throughout the entire exhibition space of the Living Art Museum. The common denominator of the works is the idea of scale, both in relation to each other and in proportional context with the gallery space of the Marshall House. Ívar Glói invites visitors to pause and ponder the different scales that shape our surroundings, hierarchies which we take for granted but are in fact constructed to make sense of a chaotic world; to know which way is up and which is down, what is small and what is large. The reality, however, is that everything is relative, including art.

Ívar Glói Gunnarsson Breiðfjörð (b. 1992) studied at the Iceland University of the Arts and completed his postgraduate studies at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels in 2023. His work has been exhibited at Art au Centre in Liège (BE), Cas-co in Leuven (BE), and widely in Iceland – including at Kópavogur Art Museum - Gerðarsafn, Harbinger and the Sequences Art Festival. In 2023, Ívar Glói received the Belgian Cas-Co Bac Award. He lives in Reykjavík.
