Dear members,

Following the general meeting this spring, the newly elected board of the Living Art Museum met for the first time on June 15th. Then the board reviewed the cooperation agreement, and divided roles. In the coming term, Guðlaug Mía Eyþórsdóttir will continue as vice chair, Deepa Iyengar will be secretary and Joe Keys will be treasurer.

Thora Karlsdóttir informed the board members that during the spring annual meeting, shortly after Nýló's general meeting, she was accepted into the board of the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists. The board discussed possible conflicts of interest that could arise, and the board's decision was that it is undesirable for a board member on SÍM's board to also sit on Nýló's board for the same period.

Thora chose this fall to continue on the board of SÍM and resign from the board of Nýló. She thanks Nýló's members for their trust, and reiterates that she will probably volunteer for the board sometime later.

Nýló's board sincerely thanks Thora for her energy and initiative, and truly hopes that there will be an opportunity to collaborate later. We look forward to following her work in SÎM's board.

Lukas Bury, who was elected to the deputy board at the last annual meeting, takes Thora's place in the main board.
