Friend Edition of the year 2023

Eygló Harðardóttir has been selected as the Living Art Museum’s Friends of Nýló Artist of the Year 2023.

Eygló has created a unique edition for the museum. We invite you to be present with us on Saturday, December 10 at 13, when the work will be unveiled. There will be some light refreshments and the event is free of charge. The event marks the first in a small series of events that the museum is hosting in December, where the emphasis will be on togetherness and conversation. The work Eygló has created is titled Place, and refers indirectly to the exhibition Another space, held at the museum in 2018, and other works that Eygló has created since then. Therefore, it can be said that the work is both unique in itself and at the same time draws a certain circle around the works that Eygló has undertaken recently.

Every year, The Living Art Museum commissions an outstanding artist to create a work in edition, which the friends and patrons of the museum receive in gratitude for their support. Friend artists for previous years are Hreinn Friðfinnsson, Anna Júlía Friðbjörnsdóttir, Unndór Egill Jónsson, Arna Óttarsdóttir, Guðjón Ketilsson and Melanie Ubaldo. The friends of Nýló are a group of people who support the museum’s ambitious exhibition activities. By showing support in action, their contribution is used to strengthen the living environment of contemporary art and further strengthen Nýló's core activities. You can read more about the museum's friend program here.
