Artists talk: Aftertime

Join us for an artist talk with Sasha Huber, Santiago Mostyn, Lagos Studio Archives and Ina Nian, who will discuss their practice and participation in Sequences XII.

Aftertime brings together artists exploring the politics of time through racialized perspectives. Santiago Mostyn, Sheida Soleimani, Ina Nian, Lagos Studio Archives (Karl Ohiri and Rikka Kassinen) and Sasha Huber reflect on histories of colonization, slavery, and systemic neglect. Inspired by Christina Sharpe's notion of living "in the wake" of slavery, the exhibition examines how time and slowness are unequally experienced and valued. These works question whose time is honored, and how reclaiming time can be an act of resistance.

The talk is moderated by curator Daría Sól Andrews and will be held in English. Presented as part of Sequences XII: Pause, the event is free and open to all.
